Community Wisdom

Building Civility, Goodwill and Unity Skills

A course of study is offered to train participants in relational skills to develop a language of civility and goodwill. These skills will promote and establish an ethos of unity.

Participants will review the current negative impact of  media bias, isolated group think and vitriolic debate in contrast with a more civil language of peace.

A review of the wisdom within the spiritual traditions will be explored. A personal plan for remedial action will be developed.

Intervention and Advocacy

To intervene on behalf of the powerless and to advocate for the causes of the under-served.

All community stakeholders from the common places of life are encouraged to engage in intervention and advocacy on issues such as civil communication, race relationships, economic empowerment, issues of diversity, justice and equality.

Voices of Civility Campaign

A representative roundtable of Kansas City stakeholders has created a multi-media campaign to re-value, promote, and demonstrate community civility. Educators, business leaders, civic groups, faith-based organizations, political leaders, and media professionals have collaborated to educate and train on the power of positive precepts, principles, values, and virtues. This media campaign is committed to heal and reconcile persons and community groups who experience division, enmity, and distrust.

The Spirit of Kansas City is determined
by who we are and what we say and do.
